  • We are located on Whidbey Island in Washington and provide therapy online for clients located in any of the 42+ states currently participating in PSYPACT.

  • We are currently only offering online services at this time. Dr. Jones is considering offering walk and talk therapy in the future.

  • You will receive a video appointment link prior to your appointment start time. In order for you to make the most of your session, please ensure you also have the following:

    • A working, video-capable computer or mobile device

    • A strong, secure internet connection (not public wifi)

    • A private, comfortable, and distraction-free location

    • A working telephone nearby in case we encounter any technical difficulties

  • We are not in-network with any insurance plans; however, you may be eligible for partial reimbursement if you have out-of-network benefits. Fees are paid in full at the time of service and we can provide you with a detailed invoice (AKA a “superbill”) at the end of each month if you wish to submit to your insurance company for reimbursement. To determine if you have mental health coverage, you can call your insurance company and ask them about any out-of-network benefits you may have. We suggest asking the following:

    • Do I have Out-of-Network (OON) coverage?

    • What are my benefits?

    • Do I need a referral or prior authorization to see an OON provider?

    • What is my deductible and what amount has already been met this year?

    • How much will I be reimbursed for each visit? (see CPT codes below)

    • Is there a limit to how many sessions or dollar amount I can be reimbursed for per year?

    • Will telehealth services be reimbursed?

    • What is the process to submit claims for reimbursement?

Services are billed using CPT codes, which are 5-digit codes specific to each service provided. The superbill will contain all of the information your insurance company will need in order to process your reimbursement. Common therapy CPT codes are:

    • 90791 - intake appointment

    • 90832 - individual therapy 25-30 minutes

    • 90834 - individual therapy 45-50 minutes

    • 90837 - individual therapy 55-60 minutes

    • 90847 - family psychotherapy with the client present

    • 90846 - family psychotherapy without the client present

    • Telehealth visits are typically designated by adding “-95” to the above codes

Please note: Couple’s counseling is typically not covered by insurance and there is no CPT code for this service.

  • Greater choice and fit
Private pay allows you to choose a therapist based on fit - not on who happens to be in-network. The relationship matters, and this gives you more control over who you work with.

    More flexibility in treatment
Insurance can place limits on therapy, such as session length, frequency, number of sessions, or whether you can be seen virtually. With private pay, treatment decisions stay between you and your therapist.

    Increased privacy and confidentiality
Insurance companies require diagnoses and treatment details to be shared and stored, and they may request additional details about your care. With private pay, your therapy remains between you and your therapist.

    Therapy that isn’t diagnosis-driven
Insurance requires a mental health diagnosis, even when someone is seeking therapy for support, relationships, or life transitions. Private pay allows therapy to focus on what’s actually bringing you in, without forcing a label.

    Continuity of care
You can continue working with the same therapist regardless of insurance changes or plan coverage.

    • Initial intake (60 minutes): $350

    • Individual therapy (50 minutes): $250

    1. Schedule your free 15-minute consultation. We’ll ask about the basics of what your concerns are, and answer any questions you have about us or our practice. If we both agree that this is a good therapy fit, you’ll get an invite to the portal where you’ll be able to fill out pre-intake paperwork.

    2. Fill out the pre-intake paperwork.‍ ‍Once you accept the portal invite, you can fill out the paperwork which will include consent forms, questionnaires about yourself and any symptoms you’re experiencing, and payment information. The pre-intake paperwork must be completed and payment method added before your intake is scheduled. You will not be charged until the time of session.

    3. Schedule and attend your initial intake. During this comprehensive intake, we’ll explore more about what’s bringing you in, what you’re hoping to get out of therapy, and important aspects of your history and current life. It is also a time for us to get a sense of how it feels to work together and to make sure it’s the right fit on both sides. If we decide to move forward, we’ll schedule your follow-up sessions.

    4. Attend your follow-ups.‍ ‍Sessions are usually held weekly, and may shift in frequency as you begin to meet your goals or prepare to transition out of therapy.

  • Since scheduling an appointment involves the reservation of a time specifically for you, a minimum of 48 hours notice is required for cancelling an appointment. You will be expected to pay the full fee if you cancel within 48 hours or do not show up for your appointment. You will also be charged the full fee if you arrive to session late or choose to leave a session early.
